Orientation and Introduction Weeks
Your semester starts with the Orientation Weeks organized by the International Office.
You will meet the Exchange Co-ordinator, the student mentors and the other international students. We will organize campus and city tours and assist with enrolment at the university and registration with the local authorities. You will also be given a Welcome Pack with more information and useful brochures. Hints and tips on survival in Germany are also provided. This orientation week is designed to help you settle into living in Duesseldorf.
The following week is our general induction week, during which you will meet further members of staff, academic and non-academic, and our full-time students. You will get detailed information on courses, so you can put together a semester programme to suit your wishes and requirements. We will also talk about how the university system is organised in Germany and in Duesseldorf. The week will help you settle into university life before the actual semester begins.
During the semester the student mentors put together a programme of social events, company visits and trips to places of interest in and around Duesseldorf as well as further afield.
